  1. I’m interested in learning more about your CSA. Do you still have shares available for 2015? What do they cost? How does it work? Do we work on the farm as part of the share? We homeschool-would there be a possibility of doing a field trip or tour besides the farm tour?

    Thank you,

    Nanette Pierson

    1. Hello Nanette,
So glad to hear from you, and we would be very happy to have your family visit Shipki Farm for a tour/learning experience. You would be welcome to pitch in and help with farm “duties” as much as you like. Maybe planning a few trips throughout the season so the kids could see the whole process. How old are your kids, and where do you live? We have three kids (10, 7, 2) who live with us here on the farm too.

The CSA has standard shares (family size – $500/ 20-week season) and small shares (2 veggie-loving adults – $350 / 20 week season). There is no work requirement included, but we always welcome visitors and those who want to pitch in.

Let me know if you are interested and I can send you a sign up sheet. Please email as I check that email more regularly than this one.

      All the best,
      Tanya Boyd

    2. Bounty share is $500 ($25/week) 20 weeks, from May 30 – October 10. Enough for 3-4 people.

Economy share is $350 ($17/week)a economy share has the same produce as a standard share, but sized for 2 people.

We still are working out logistics for pick ups, but most likely one or two locations on the island then one on the other side. We could work out a work trade and we can definitive have a farm tour/potluck.

Let me know what you think!

  2. Good morning,

I recently moved to Whidbey for an editorial internship that’ll last through summer, and so I am also seeking paid work while I live on the island. I was wondering if you have any positions open, part or full time, that I might be able to fill. Thank you for any information you can provide.

    Best regards,

    Shawn McGregor

    1. Hi Shawn,

Welcome to the island! At this point we do have our own internship open, but unfortunately it is not paid. If you know of anyone interested in a farming internship in exchange for a place to live and food, please point them in our direction.
